Dell launches precision M4500 Mobile Workstation

Dell has launched its M4500 15.6” powerful mobile workstation more or less similar to M6500 except its size and some some minor difference in specifications.It is expected to have a battery life of about 7 hours and 40 minutes which is a very attractive feature of this Notebook.User is given a choice to choose between processors for this model.Choice could of these two – Core i5 or Core i7 processors. Even people can go for an option of Core i7-920XM Quad Core Extreme Edition with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M graphics card.

Airtel launches 50 Mbps broadband service

Airtel has launched 50 Mbps broadband service at Delhi and Gurgoan on next generation VDSL2 technology.Though India lags far behind in broandband service atleast now the service providers have started launching high speed services in the country.This broadband with 50Mbps speed is the first fastest wireline broadband in the country.
Airtel is soon having plans to extend the service in other main cities like Chennai,Bangalore and Mumbai.

Apart from this 50 Mbps plan Airtel also has a 30 Mbps plan.

AMD launches 12 core processor – AMD Opteron™ 6000 Series platform

AMD has launched the world’s first 8 and 12 core processors both from AMD Opteron 6000 Series Platform. The AMD Opteron 6000 series offers upto 88% more integer performance and 119% more floating point than any exisiting AMD processor. AMD also promises a 2.5 times improvement in Memory performance with four channels  DDR3 slot.

AMD has also announced that HP,Dell,Acer and others are launching servers with the 12 core processors in next few months. But the main advantage of AMD 12 core processors seems to be the price tag which is just half the price of Intel’s 6 core processors.
