Indian Festival Sri Rama Navami is celebrated today


Birthday of Hindu God Sri Rama is celebrated all over India as “Sri Rama Navami”.Festival is also called as “Rama Navratra” as it is celebrated at the end of nine-day Chaitra-Navratri celebrations.
It falls on the ninth day of the Hindu lunar year Chaitra(Chitra) Masa Suklapaksha Navami.
Devotees used to fast on this day and chant the name of Lord Rama.
On the occasion of “Sri Rama Navami” Processions will take place in Northern part of India.Many temples famous for lord Rama will celebrate this day in very systematic and devotional way.Some of the famous temples are Nasik and Ayodhya in the north,Tirupati and Rameshwar in the southern region.Ayodhya is considered as the birth place for Sri Rama and there is sure to be a heavy rush in the Ayodhya temple wherein we can find all the sculptures of Lord Rama.
It is also good to read Ramayana one of the holy book of Indian Religion.
