newegg, the California based online electronics retailer had shipped hundreds of counterfeit intel core i7 920 processors to its customers over the past couple of weeks. The intel Core i7 920 processor being a premium and high end processor is now only in its very first revision. The counterfeits were reported by some users by the Spelling mistakes in the packages of the Processor, typically most counterfeits from China do have these typos in their packaging.
Since then Newegg has banned one of its suppliers IPEX who had supplied these counterfeit chips. Below are some pictures from Overclockers forum.
