TCS announced its 2009-10 Q3 results today and produced better than expected numbers.
Q3 Revenues at $1.64 Billion up 10.3% YoY and 6.3% QoQ
Q3 Net profit at $364 billion up 38.9% YoY ; up 14.2% QoQ
TCS also added 10 major clients.
Able to maintain margins by leveraging offshore movements.
Overall growth in All verticals.
BFSI also grew considerably.

Update – Jan 20 2010 -
Only Manufacturing ISU has completed 90% of promotions. Rest of the ISU’s the list has not been finalised, so you guys might have to wait longer. Anyway the promotions will be given one way or the other. Dont lose hope.

TCS posts better than expected Q2 results

TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) beat the market outlook by posting decent Q2 numbers following in Infosys path.
The net profit was at Rs 1,640 crore vs Rs 1,533 crore QoQ (Quarter-on-Quarter). The results are up 3.2% QoQ and 6.9% YoY.

TCS to change Promotion eligibility criteria from 2009-10

The news is almost sure, if the present promotion batch was made to wait unofficially in the name of recession, the future batches will be made to wait in the name of new eligibility criteria. For the past batches the eligibility criteria is 3 years in a particular grade ie to become an ITA an associate have to spend 3 years in ASE (After confirmation) ie a total of four years.

TATA Consultancy Services is planning to restructure its onsite Salary Structure and it is most likely that higher grade employees will lose out their extra perks and benefits, though a total reduction in salary is not possible as per US Govt law the minimum wages should be 60,000 $ per annum.

TCS announced yesterday  full VA component for Q1 2010-11 and promotions will be processed for all employees who were recommended last year for the promotions.
