As far as I can see from Intel's page, T6400's VCore range is wider (1000 mV - 1250 mV) than T5800's, so, even though it may be a tad cooler on idle, on usage it will heat up more than T5800 (its max temperature is 105C compared to T5800's, which is only 90C). Even though they both have a TDP of 35W. So apart from the fact that the T6400, being newer, will have a better resale value, and disregarding the potentially misleading benchmark you mentioned, why would one pick T6400 in favor of T5800?

hi my brother has a HP pavilion dv4 laptop and its got the t5800 in it with 4 gig ram,and i have a HP Pavilion dv4 with a t6400 with 3 gig ram. Bouth run on same Windows Vista. His laptop is a bit faster in games, and mines sometimes starts to lagg a bit. But my laptop usess about 30% less power on the bettery, alot better. while bouth run on high performance bettery plan.
